A report published by Lender Processing Services (LPS) analyzing homeowner’s performance on their mortgages as of July 2010 shows that mortgage delinquencies continue to decline however are still at very high levels versus historical norms. At the same time however, foreclosure starts have increased to the fourth highest level on record.
Highlights from the report..
- In July, 9.33 percent of all mortgages in the U.S. were delinquent, down from 9.55 percent in June. Once foreclosures are added to the delinquencies the total non-current loans in July was 13.08 percent of all mortgages, down from 13.20 percent in June.
- There is currently a higher percentage of loans that were originated in 2007 in foreclosure than any other year.
